stupid weather.com
of course right now it is perfectly sunny outside. I should be out playing
golf. Weather.com is so so wrong. I guess this underscores the need for a
car; I would not have had to decide by 10 if we could play at 1pm.

Rain rain go away
Rain Rain-
I wake up this morning to rain. Actually, when I woke up it wasn't quite raining but after a few minutes, it had started to rain. Normally, rain doesn't bother me that much. Except today I had plans; I was going to take the train out to Long Island to play some golf. So that had to be cancelled, cause I am sure as heck not taking a $15 cab ride, a $6 train ride, and 80 minutes of transportation to see if the weather clears up.
The other thing about rain, is that today is Sunday. Today is the day when I maybe go a little shopping and then I sit on my ass for the rest of the afternoon. But the rain makes it damn near impossible to go shopping in the city. It also takes away the alternative of going to the park and reading a book. I probably will sit at home all day and study. Of course I studied a lot yesterday when the weather was just muggy so my weekend will be full of study.
Last week, on Tuesday, we also had a softball game scheduled in central park. Of course, if the game is not cancelled by 4 pm, then you have to show up at the field. I think I spent more time that day on weather.com than working. So 4 pm hits, I get an email that the field is playable and the game is on. At 5 pm, we are waiting to walk over and it's freaking pouring. We still have to go to field and of course the game is cancelled. I think I caught a cold that day walking through the rain and I can't shake it.
Till Next Time -

My Computer Died
Hard drive failure. Ike is not a happy trout. It was working saturday and then it would not reboot. Chcdsk gave the error along the lines of blah blah blah unrecoverable errors. ick.
Currently booting with knoppix and copying out as much of the data as I can to another partition. Then later this week, I will reinstall everything. Ick. Ick Ick. No fun.

A good day at work
I show up for work today at 9AM, a little behind schedule. I do work for about half an hour when someone comes over and tells me that today is the day the interns get to go to the Met's game. Turns out, we had extra tickets, so I left work at 10:30, went to the Mets game - Picnic area / bleachers. After the Mets game, I went straight home.
Every once in a while, the job can be satisfying. Of course, I didn't bring a hat and now my forehead is very bright red. Sunburn. Ouch.

Finally, passed the stupid actuarial exam. Now, I am more than half way there. (Sing along.. pretend you are from Jersey, which I am not, thank goodness)
Build a Bear Article
There is an article on the The New York Times > Magazine > Build a Bear stores in the mall in the New York Times Sunday Magazine.
Does anyone else find the animal shells a little disturbing. it seems to me like the opposite of a hunter. Hunter shoots animal, and then gets a bear skin rug out of the deal. Build a Bear person, takes bear skin rug and fills it with stuff.
Scary don't you think.

LAUNCH: Music on Yahoo!
Today at work, I am listening to my radio station on yahoo. (LAUNCH: Music on Yahoo!). I just got a song by William Hung. Rocketman. I am disturbed. Scary. I dislike William hung. Everything he stands for. This really upset me.
