Amazing Race: All Star teams announced - TV Squad

Amazing Race: All Star teams announced - TV Squad: "CBS has unveiled the lineup for The Amazing Race 11, which will be an all-stars edition. On the list are, of course, love-to-hate-'em villains Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich, who came in second on season 7.

Fans have been wondering how the producers would pick the teams. In USA Today, executive producer Bertram Van Munster said, 'They're not necessarily the winners, but character-wise, they're all-stars in our book.'

And Van Munster promised this Race will be super-tough, with 'curveball after curveball,' since the teams have all been there, done that.

Also racing will be:

- Kevin O'Connor and Drew Feinberg (season 1)
- Joe Baldassare and Bill Bartek (season 1)
- Ozwald Mendez and Danilo Jimenez (Danny) (season 2)
- John Vito Pietanza and Jill Aquilino (season 3)
- Teri Pollack and Ian Pollack (season 3)
- Charla Baklayan Faddoul and Mirna Hindoyan (season 5)
- Uchenna Agu and Joyce Agu (season 7)
- Eric Sanchez and Danielle Turner (Dee) (season 9, on separate teams)
- David Conley, Jr. and Mary Conley (season 10)
- Dustin Seltzer and Kandice Pelletier (season 10)"

Beyonce and Jay-Z Buy $40,000 Chair - Luxist

Beyonce and Jay-Z Buy $40,000 Chair - Luxist: "This past weekend, while in Miami, Beyonce and Jay-Z took a tour of DesignMiami to pick out furniture when one of Wander's newest creations caught their eye. They took home one of his knitted chairs for about $40,000. The chair is beautiful, made of white cotton and coated with epoxy resin, but that price is quite a lot for a chair - especially when, due to the unusual design, half of it isn't really there."

You, Too, Can Vote For Rory - Deadspin

You, Too, Can Vote For Rory - Deadspin: "You, Too, Can Vote For Rory

voteforrory.jpgAs is made plain and obvious around here every day, we don't have the most fundamental understanding of hockey. We love hockey, particularly in person, but with everything that has went on the last few years, it's difficult to keep up. We know, we apologize and we're trying.

So when we find a hockey cause that makes us want to jump and dance around a bit, we embrace it with open pads and kiss it with our six teeth. Therefore, we proudly introduce you to Rory Fitzpatrick, the current cause celebre of the online hockey set. Fitzpatrick, a little-used player for Vancouver, is, according to HFBoards (one of the top hockey message boards around and the ones who started this whole mess), 'Fitzpatrick is pretty much the antithesis of a typical all-star. A Rochester, NY native, Fitzpatrick has spent the last decade bouncing back and forth from the minors to the NHL. Up to this season, he had played 210 games in the NHL in the last decade (approximately 24 each season). He's really just a hard working guy that gets by more on desire than pure skill. The kind of guy that doesn't get noticed when he's doing his job right. The kind of guy a team needs to win, rather than relying on superstars who are more concerned with the paycheck. Rory is a fan's man.'

This year we're hoping to raise a lot of money for a good cause by knitting 220,000 small hats to put on our drinks. For every bottle with a hat on it sold in an EAT café or Sainsbury's between the end of November and Christmas 2006, 50p will go to Age Concern. Good, eh? Click here to read the full story behind supergran 06.
