When did Amtrak raise their fares? Now even with AAA discount, it is over $100 roundtrip between New York and Philadelphia.

Sunday Sunday Sunday

Sunday in NYC. What to do. It's real nice outside so I should probably go and sit in the park. However, my leg still hurts a little bit from my activities on Saturday.

Yesterday, I managed to get into a fight with an escalator. Well, it was not so much of a fight as the escalator kicking my butt. See, I was at Bed Bath and Beyond and carrying new towels in a basket. I had the basket in one hand and a new light fixture (an incandescent torchiere, not a halogen*) in the other hand. So I am wearing my flip flops and I manage to slip as I step onto the escalator. So I have one leg on the escalator and the other leg up still on normal ground. The escalator is moving, as that is what it does, and I am off balance. I slip a little and get a few small cuts on me leg. Totally embarrassing. The escalator won; I lost - totally my stupid fault.

* Halogen lamps - those things are evil. They fall into the same category as Ikea furniture: great for the dorm, unacceptable in real life.

Playing Golf in NYC

I want to play some golf but have run into the following problems:
1. I don't have a car - Getting to a golf course via public transit from Manhattan leaves basically the only option as Van Cortland.
2. I don't have friends who want to play. I am kind of sick of playing as a single and going up to Van Cortland to do so.
3. My romomate won't let me borrow his car. This wouldn't solve problem #2 but it would help with #1. I would also be able to go to the driving range without going all the way to Chelsea or depending on the Randall's Island shuttle.

Happy Mother's Day

Ike says Happy Mothers Day.

Test is over

It's over baby. It was pretty smooth sailing in the morning but then the afternoon was bad. Real Bad. Like stuck on a rowboat in a hurricane with no life boat.

Then again, that was the consensus.

So we have to wait a few months to find out how we did.
