Deuce of Davenport | Sports News, Commentary, Humor, Videos: Cal Band Pays Tribute To Video Games
This is one hell of a halftime show here. The Cal Bears marching band decided that during their November 3rd game against Washington State to pay tribute to video game history during their halftime show. Let it be written in stone that Cal students are dorks, but man do they put on a spectacle here. Can you name all the video games that they pay tribute to in this epic display of geekdom?

Cuddly Chimps - I Want One Of Those
Cuddly Chimps - I Want One Of Those: "When you think of cuddly toys, you normally think of teddies, but we're not that normal, and so when we saw these adorable chimps it was love at first sight. Of course the first thing you have to do with a cuddly toy is put it through intensive and vigorous hug testing. The test results in the IWOOT office (even among those who'd like to think they're too hard for this sort of thing) went so far off the scale of huggability that we had to triple our order. The Chimp family (available individually or as a troupe) come in three sizes of Dad, Mum and Baby, and are the softest, squidgiest and most enchanting primates on the planet. They're real heart-melters."

Go ahead, just try tickling ElmoSapien - Engadget
Go ahead, just try tickling ElmoSapien - Engadget: "Go ahead, just try tickling ElmoSapien Posted Sep 28th 2007 12:13PM by Darren Murph Filed under: Robots As you've probably already figured out, only one creation can emerge when you combine Elmo and Robosapien: ElmoSapien. This admittedly bizarre mishmash of toys combines WowWee's Robosapien RS Media and Sesame Street's famed Elmo (or his costume, at least) into one creature that somehow manages to look innocent and menacing simultaneously. 'Course, there's only so much a picture can show, so be sure and check out ElmoSapien's adventures on video after the jump for a hearty chuckle. Uni Watch » Uni Watch Profiles: P.K. Cummings
P.K. (which is what everyone calls her — it’s not an alias or anything like that) turned out to be quite a character. As you’ll see, she’s not exactly shy with her opinions. But you’ll also see that she’s a highly skilled professional with a lot of specialized technical expertise. That combination makes for a very, very good interview."

NY governor ready to approve casino
6 February 2007
MONTICELLO, New York – As reported by the Pocono Record: 'New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer is close to approving a $600-million Monticello casino, his spokeswoman said.
''We are optimistic that there will be something in a number of days,' she said of the governor taking a historic step of approving the St. Regis Mohawk casino at Monticello Gaming and Raceway.
'In December, authorities gave environmental approval. Spitzer must concur by letter with those findings for the Mohawks and their partner, Empire Resorts, to go forward.
'If Spitzer signs, it would be a hurdle that no other Catskill casino has cleared, paving the way for final approval by the Secretary of the Interior, Dirk Kempthorne.
'Only three times before have governors allowed state land to be taken into trust for an off-reservation casino — none of them were in New York.
'…The governor and the Mohawks still have to work out a compact that specifies, among other things, a revenue sharing deal…'"

Amazing Race: All Star teams announced - TV Squad
Fans have been wondering how the producers would pick the teams. In USA Today, executive producer Bertram Van Munster said, 'They're not necessarily the winners, but character-wise, they're all-stars in our book.'

Also racing will be:
- Kevin O'Connor and Drew Feinberg (season 1)
- Joe Baldassare and Bill Bartek (season 1)
- Ozwald Mendez and Danilo Jimenez (Danny) (season 2)
- John Vito Pietanza and Jill Aquilino (season 3)
- Teri Pollack and Ian Pollack (season 3)
- Charla Baklayan Faddoul and Mirna Hindoyan (season 5)
- Uchenna Agu and Joyce Agu (season 7)
- Eric Sanchez and Danielle Turner (Dee) (season 9, on separate teams)
- David Conley, Jr. and Mary Conley (season 10)
